JACKSON, Tenn. — Phillip WIlliams Jr. appeared before Madison County Juvenile Court Judge Christy Little Wednesday afternoon, but that will be the last time. The 17-year-old’s case was sent to adult court. “I’m satisfied with it. I feel more at ease now. Everybody can get some rest now,” said Saint Murphy Jr., the father of the man Williams is accused of killing. Williams is charged in the death of 29-year-old Beau Reid. Williams and 21-year-old Christopher Lyles are charged with murdering Reid outside his Lincoln Courts apartment. They also face counts of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery from an incident earlier that same morning at an apartment at 33 Carver Ave. Represented by attorney Joseph Howell, Williams heard words from his mentors, and was shown evidence from the crime scene. After hearing from the defense, and the assistant district attorney, Judge Little transferred the case. “You are young, and it breaks my heart to see you sitting here with handcuffs on,” Judge Little said to WIlliams. Murphy said his family is the one now suffering. “It’s been hard on me. I can’t get sleep or rest at night, and I think about him all the time. My wife had to take a clock down that I had with his picture on it. She took it away from me so it’s still hard on me right now,” Murphy said. As time goes forward, Murphy explained he will be following the case every step of the way. Williams’ and Lyles’ cases will go before a grand jury.
