JACKSON, Tenn.-Area Relief Ministries held its annual “Salt & Light Banquet” Thursday evening at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. This year featured local college presidents, Dr. Logan Hampton of Lane College and Dr. Samuel “Dub” Oliver of Union University. The two men talked about how our community can come together and unite as one in our neighborhoods and at work. “We’re so excited and beyond grateful for people, just giving their Thursday evening just to come out and support ARM and the things we do, it just makes me proud to be part of Jackson and a part of this community,” said Lisa Peoples with Area Relief Ministries. The “Salt & Light Banquet” serves as ARM’s largest fundraiser, making possible the services they provide. Emergency shelter, case management, and transitional employment services are provided for those who are homeless.
