EAST JACKSON — Golfers are back on the links at a city owned golf course in east Jackson. Bent Tree Golf Course reopened Friday after the city and the private company managing the course set up a temporary clubhouse and replaced several golf carts. An arson destroyed the clubhouse and carts on Aug. 11. Workers say the greens and course are in better condition since there has been no traffic during the cleanup. “The main thing is we’re back in full operation,” general manager David Zeip said. “We’ll have a full fleet of carts. We’ll have food and beverage operation, even though it may be minor. We’ll have it ready for the weekend.” Course officials say they’ll only accept cash until their debit and credit machines are re-installed next week.
