Man accused of grabbing woman in Jackson store

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man appeared Thursday in city court on a sexual battery charge after allegedly hugging and grabbing a woman in a Jackson convenience store. Sam Saleh is accused of approaching the woman July 5 while he was working as the clerk at Super Duper Mart on East King Street, according to an affidavit. The woman told police she had made a purchase and was leaving when Saleh came from behind the counter and started hugging her. She said he started kissing her on the neck and then grabbed her inappropriately as she pushed him away. Saleh told police he only hugged the woman, but officers say store security footage matched what the woman described, according to the affidavit. Saleh is free on a $3,000 bond.
