BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. — A home in Benton County is burglarized and everything inside, from electronics to the toilet paper is stolen. But thanks to quick thinking by neighbors, deputies have recovered almost everything and put those they say are responsible behind bars. “They took everything, absolutely everything,” Inv. Alan Bolan with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office said. “From the paper towels to the electrical devices and even their coffee pots.” Deputies said Shelly Sinkler, Alv”‹i”‹s Coleman and Christine Trailer cleaned the place out”‹ last month”‹, top to bottom. They got away with almost $10,000 worth of property. “We found all but about $1,000 worth of what we were looking for,” Bolan said. “It was all in her house and in the woods around her house.” After stealing the items from the home deputies said Sinker hid a lot of it in the woods, putting it under shrubs and leaves just waiting to sell it. When we caught up with her she was actually in the middle texting and posting to Facebook trying to sell these items to make money,” Bolan said. If”‹ not for the help of those in the neighborhood, including former Attorney General Paul Summers, officers said the accused burglars, who only live down the road, could have gotten away with it all. “He had some trail camera and got some photos of some vehicles coming in and out from the dead end road,” Bolan said. “That really got us a head start.” It is a successful neighborhood watch like this that residents said is key to their safety. “We try and watch out and after each others places all the time,” resident Richard Daniels said. “That’s really the only way you can stay safe out here in this area.” All three suspects have been charged with felony theft and aggravated burglary. Investigators said they are still looking for a Remington shotgun and a game camera.
