UNION CITY, Tenn. — Workers restoring the water utility services in Union City hit a bump in the road Tuesday night when a chunk of asphalt hit a water line, but they say everything is now back to normal. According to officials with the city’s Public Works Department, a piece of asphalt fell on a water line around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at a construction site. Everything was reportedly fixed and back to normal by around 3 a.m. Wednesday, according to the departments. Officials say this incident was not a major problem like the broken water main over the weekend and didn’t cause a water shortage or require water boil alerts.
