Several Vending Machines Broken Into
Police said they think the same man may be responsible for breaking into vending machines in Henderson, Jackson and possibly Brownsville. “My meat cutter came in the other morning and he told me, he said our drink machine had been broken into,” said Tommy Naylor, owner of Miller’s Big Star in Henderson. Naylor said they had just emptied the machine, but still a good amount of money is kept in the machine’s changer. The store has surveillance cameras installed directly above the machines, which enabled the store to provide police with footage of the incident. “He was pretty quick at it. He had the tools to do it with. He knew what he was doing,” said Naylor. Sergeant Tim Crowe of the Henderson Police Department said with the decline of the economy comes some cleaver thieves with creative tactics. “It’s going to be over $500 in amount plus the damage done to the machines,” said Sgt. Crowe when asked about how much the alleged thieves have stolen. Naylor said the alleged thieves got away with about $300 from his store. If you have any information on the alleged robber, please contact the Henderson, Jackson or Brownsville police.
