Fans like Timothy Davis and Lana Bufford are looking to turn their Lloyd and Pleasure P concert tickets, originally scheduled for April 16, back into cash. “It makes me feel like I don’t want to support concerts when they come to our area because there could be the possibility that you could be ripped off, ” added Bufford. Davis and Bufford said they bought three tickets, totaling $120 from City Gear in Jackson to see the stars. The night of the original concert, fans said promoter J-Bizzle, also known as Jason Reed, told them he was forced to reschedule the concert at the Jackson Fairgrounds Park, for June 18. But according to them, no one showed on that date either. “It was just a grounds keeper working and he didn’t know anything about anything we were talking about,” explained Bufford. Expecting a refund, the two headed back to City Gear. “Apparently nobody can get a hold of the person that was holding the concert,” added Bufford. The local district manager for City Gear, Carmen Lewis said they had a contract with Jason Reed. All of the proceeds made from the tickets sold would go back to Reed as long as he promoted their store. They say even though Reed did not deliver the concert, he took off with the money, and they can not refund customers until he is found. “We are stuck with a piece of paper that we paid $40 for,” said Bufford. Oman Arena officials said Reed paid his fee to use the arena and they can not hold him responsible for not providing the concert. City Gear officials said they filed a police report and are still looking for the club promoter.
