Humboldt Drive By Suspect Arrested

A routine traffic stop in Jackson, Tuesday night, ended with two wanted fugitives back behind bars and two other men in custody as well. Officers with the Jackson Police Department’s Gang Enforcement Team and the U.S. Marshals Task Force report stopping a blue Oldsmobile with four men inside. Chancellor Hunt, 23, was in the backseat. He is wanted on an outstanding warrant in Humboldt in connection with a drive-by shooting on North 9th Ave., June 18. Also in the car, Kenneth Cook, 19, who Milan police say was wanted by their department on an indictment for drug charges. He also faces charges in Milan of attempted first degree murder, possession of a firearm with intent to go armed during a dangerous felony and aggravated assault. Each of the four passengers, including James Roberson and Terence Greer, both 25, face charges in Jackson of unlawful possession of a handgun, after four guns were found in the vehicle. Greer also faces charges of possession of crack cocaine with intent to resell and possession of a handgun during the commission of a dangerous felony.
