Dale Kelley Leaves Post as Director for Legislation
Tennessee Governor Bill Halsam announced Friday that Huntingdon Mayor Dale Kelley is leaving his post as director of legislation and returning to West Tennessee to handle special projects for the governor’s office. Mayor Kelley was appointed to the position in December and served as the governor’s chief lobbyist. Despite his cabinet level position, Kelley never left his role as Mayor of Huntingdon, which is considered a part-time job. His successor is Leslie Hafner, who has served as deputy director of legislation since February. She has worked in Nashville since the mid 1990’s and previously served in the Don Sundquist administration.
