Lexington Street Grocery Raid
Four Jackson residents are behind bars after a drug raid at an east Jackson grocery store Friday. Officers with the Metro Narcotics Unit raided the Lexington Street Grocery Store on Lexington Ave., around 5 p.m. after a lengthy investigation into the family who owns and operates it, according to Lt. Marc Byrum. Officers found 10.8 grams of crack cocaine, $1,351 in cash and drug paraphernalia. Four people were taken into custody. Glenn Forrest, Christopher Forrest and Earlane Forrest were arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Christopher and Earlane Forrest are also charged with distributing hydrocodone. Another man, Montavious Jones, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. The four are being held in the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex. They will be formally charged in court next week.
