Arrests in Overnight Kidnapping & Robbery Solves Other Crimes

The arrest of three men in connection with an early morning kidnapping and robbery in east Jackson has solved at least two other big cases, according to Jackson police. Investigators say two of the three men who approached a couple around 2:00 a.m., Monday, outside the Park Place Apartments, are responsible for much more than the beating of the man and robbing his girlfriend. In connection with the Monday attack, Grico Clark, 18, Jordan Curry, 18, and Deangelo White, 20, all of Jackson, face charges of especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, possession of a weapon, possession of stolen property and evading arrest. Clark and White face an additional felony possession of marijuana charge. Police say Curry also faces a charge of first degree murder in the Memorial Day killing of Marketis Bailey, 22, of Jackson. Bailey was gunned down May 30 in the middle of Holland Ave. Investigators say Bailey was shot multiple times in the early afternoon attack. Officers have not said what led to the deadly shooting. Officers say Clark was also a wanted man. He now stands charged with one count of attempted especially aggravated robbery in connection with an April crime. On April 23, investigators believe Clark was picked up by a 23-year-old man dressed as a woman in west Jackson. After having sex with him in the dugout of a nearby park, Clark is accused of trying to rob the man then shooting him in the shoulder as the victim drove away. Clark, White and Curry will all be officially charged on the various counts they face, Tuesday morning, in Jackson City Court.
