Bailey Family Relieved after Murder Suspect Arrest

More than six weeks ago, Linda Williams’ grandson, Marketis Bailey, was murdered. For now she said she is holding on to every memory of her beloved Mark. “It’s rough. It’s terrible. He’s usually calling me everyday, I don’t care where he is, he’ll call me or drop by,” added Williams. Williams said Bailey got involved with the wrong crowd, quickly heading down the wrong path. Shortly before his death, Williams said Bailey told her he was ready to change.”It’s hard for me. I’ve got to be strong in the Lord and I know that he’s gonna make this better,” cried Williams. For more than seven weeks, Williams was clueless as to who took her grandson’s life. She said she prayed that Bailey’s murderer would be taken off the streets. Early Monday morning, her prayers were answered when police arrested Jordan Curry, charging him with first degree murder. “I felt sorry for him too. He’s a young man, son of somebody. I can’t imagine how they feel.” The entire Bailey family was in Jackson City Court on Tuesday morning, when Curry made his first appearance. The judge ruled Curry be held without bond. “I’m so bitter right now. I’m angry, very angry and I’m sure they can tell,” said Bailey’s aunt, Felicia Bailey. Keeping pictures of Bailey close, his family is holding on to each other and God for strength. “I just miss him, I miss him so much,” added Bailey’s aunt, Felicia.
