Cat Killer Heading To Jail
A second man charged in the killing of four kittens has been sentenced in Sevierville.
Aaron Kunak was handed 6 one space½ months of jail time as part of a four-year sentence on Tuesday on his guilty plea to four counts of animal cruelty. The 22-year-old Kunak will get credit for the time he was in jail awaiting his court date, according to The Knoxville News Sentinel.
A mental evaluation was ordered for Kunak and he was barred from having pets.
Kunak’s adult co-defendant, 21-year-old Christopher Schneider, received the same punishment June 28. The other two defendants were juveniles.
Authorities said the four burned one kitten alive and struck another like it was a baseball.
Police began investigating when cell phone video of the crime began circulating last year.
