A section of U.S. Highways 70A-79 that extends through Crockett County has been officially renamed the Crockett County Veterans Memorial Highway. American Legion Post 32 unveiled the 14 mile stretch of highway during a ceremony held Thursday in Bells. which extends from the Crockett-Haywood County line. . The new name honors the almost 5,000 servicemen and women from Crockett County who have honorably served our country since the beginning of World War I.
