Brownsville Holds Indoor Relay for Life
Mother nature’s hot hold on West Tennessee is causing some changes for Haywood County’s Relay for Life, but participants said the weather is not stopping their show. Friday, the Relay for Life festivities were inside the main branch of InSouth Bank in Brownsville. Earlier this year, the event was canceled due to rain and rescheduled for Friday. But with the brutally hot weather, organizers again had to make a change in plans for the event that is normally outside. “Put up a table and have survivors come in and pick up there shirts and medallions and turn in there money and other relay activity that needs to be done, ” said Alice McClanahan, a cancer survivor. Members also said they are still accepting donations.
