After more than two months of being delayed, the Relay for Life of Madison County Celebration is set to get underway, Saturday. Friday, organizer were once again putting up tents and getting ready for the American Cancer Society. The event was originally scheduled for May of this year, but had to be postponed after a violent storm blew through. Organizers said the meaning behind this event is too important to not recognize. “The main thing about Relay for Life is to celebrate survivors and when we couldn’t do the survivor walk and remember the people we lost, I think it was imperative,” said Jodie Parrish with Relay for Life. Festivities kick off Saturday at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies. Activities will continue until midnight at Jackson Fairgrounds Park.
