Stanfill Goes Before Henderson Co. Election Board
ABC 7 Eyewitness News has an update to a story we first told you about just over a week ago. The Henderson County Election Commission met Friday in a called meeting to decide whether to place Mark Stanfill back on the city ballot in an alderman’s race. Stanfill was disqualified from running for alderman position 7 in the Lexington city elections in a 3-to-2 vote because of questions concerning his residency. Stanfill made a presentation before the board, pointing out that Margaret Milam was involved with a lawsuit against the city. She abstained from voting, leaving the vote in a 2-2 tie. But after speaking with leaders in Nashville about what they should do the board voted again and Milam voted this time against Stanfill. The 3-2 decision means Stanfill will not be on the ballot.
