One Dies In TN Church Van Crash
One person was killed and several injured Thursday morning when a van belonging to a Middle Tennessee church overturned on an off-ramp of Interstate 40 about 55 miles west of Nashville.
The gray van landed on its top, which was crushed. Scattered in the grass were backpacks, water bottles and a first aid kit, among other debris.
The dead girl was identified by the Highway Patrol as 14-year-old MacKenzie Turner.
The van belonged to the Destiny Church in Columbia. It was returning from an overnight trip to Munford, north of Memphis.
Troopers are investigating the possibility that the driver fell asleep.
