An alleged physical altercation between a Milan middle school principal and teacher left both on paid administrative leave pending an investigation. Authorities said they were called to the 2000 block of West Van Hook around 11:30, Sunday night. “The victim alleges she went to Mr. Roberson’s home to discuss something about her mother,” said Chief Tim Wright of Milan Police Department. Police said Julius “Doc” Roberson allegedly assaulted Milan Middle School Principal Sonya Cathey. According to the warrant, Cathey said Roberson threw her on a bed and grabbed her neck. She said crawling to her phone, he then kicked it out of her hand, pointed a gun at her head and threatened to “blow her head off.” “I did not have any idea. I just can’t believe it. I don’t see it in “Doc,” but you know everybody has a dark side,” said neighbor, Linda Adkisson. Adkisson said she has known Roberson since he was young and is a friend of his mother. Chief Wright said completing the report has been a challenge due to a lack of information. He said Cathey’s body lacks signs of a physical altercation. Roberson is free on a $2500 bond. He is due in court August 31.
