Firefighters Battle Factory Blaze in Trenton
A fire at a Gibson County manufacturing plant sent three employees to the hospital on Monday. Hobbs Bonded Fiber in Trenton, which makes acoustical insulation for cars caught fire around 5, Monday morning. Workers there say they tried to put it out with fire extinguishers but it quickly got out of hand and they had to evacuate. Trenton Fire officials tell us it took four separate departments from Trenton, Milan, Dyer County, and Gibson County around four hours to put the blazing materials. The plant manager and two other workers had to go to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation but have all since been released. Employees believe the fire may have been ignited by a spark in a cooling fan; however, fire officials tell us it is still under investigation.
