Medina School Integrates IPods into Classroom
A Gibson County public elementary school is integrating the latest technology in their classrooms by letting their students use IPods at school. Two weeks ago, teachers at Medina Elementary School received the IPod Touches to use in their lesson plans. They are one of the only public schools in West Tennessee that uses IPods and it is all thanks to the Parent Teacher Organization. For the past two years, they have raised about $20,000 through fundraisers and donations to purchase them for the school. Each classroom gets three IPod Touches, adding up to total of 102 for the entire school. “To keep the students stimulated is what we have to do to give them continuous learning. If they’re bored, they’re not gonna get it,” said 1st grade teacher Audrey Staggs. The school also purchased IPads for the school to use in the special education department.
