Shelby County Father,Son Drown
A man and his foster son have drowned on a Memphis lake.
Memphis Police officials identified the victims on Monday as 61-year-old Jimmy Austin and his 10-year-old son, Travell Lark Austin, according to The Commercial Appeal
The accident occurred on Coro Lake Sunday night.
Searchers recovered both bodies after about an hour.
Neighbor Joellen Buehler said the family moved there from New Orleans a couple of years ago and has been very involved in the community.
She said the father and son went fishing on the lake every weekend.
The fire department and medical examiner are investigating. Police said circumstances leading up to the drowning aren’t yet known.
