Wortham Files Suit against Brooks and Dreblow and JPD
Two suspended Jackson police officers already indicted on state and federal charges now face a civil suit by the man from which they are accused of stealing money. ABC 7 Eyewitness News has learned Malcolm Wortham has filed a suit in Madison County General Sessions Court against Officers Marvent Brooks and David Dreblow, as well at the City of Jackson and Jackson Police Chief Gill Kendrick. Wortham is seeking up to $25,000 for violation of his civil rights. In August of last year, Brooks and Dreblow responded to a robbery at Wortham’s home, where he was also shot. Investigators said while inside his home, Brooks and Dreblow stole more than $1,200. Both remain on unpaid leave from the Jackson Police Department.
