Diapers Used In Bomb Threat
A Bristol mother and her two children are accused of placing a package containing dirty underwear in a hospital waiting room and then calling in a bomb threat.
Police arrested 54-year-old Candace Tester on Thursday after they recognized her in surveillance video. Tester and her children, 18-year-old John Tester and 21-year-old Virginia Sullins, were each charged with false reporting, according to the Bristol Herald Courier
The Bristol Regional Medical Center’s operations were disrupted for about three hours Wednesday night while they began evacuating and called in the local bomb squad.
Police Capt. Charlie Thomas said the family told police they thought the fake bomb would be funny.
Jail officials said the trio was being held without bond. There was no indication of whether they had retained an attorney.
