Liberty Bus Visits Nova Elementary

Students at Nova Elementary got a visit from Lady Liberty herself, Friday, in part of a new program being launched at the school. School leaders said the program’s goal is to get student excited about being a U.S. citizen, and is part of the next great American bus tour, which arrived Friday afternoon. Lady Liberty gave students a high energy performance during the event designed to raise student awareness of our great national history, by donating free teaching tools, in-school programs and performances. “We’re hoping that by them seeing it presented in this way, which would be different then they normally hear about citizenship presented in the classroom,” said Principal Kippi Jordan of Nova Elementary. “It will get them excited and on-fire about being a strong citizen in their community.” Jordan said the event is part of the school’ “Super Citizen” program, which begins later this school year.
