Family Still Seeking Answers Three Months After Murder
Family members said three months after Michael Nelson Brown, 21, was murdered, they still have no answers from police. “I find myself sitting up waiting for Michael to come to the door. I have to catch myself and realize he’s not coming home,” said Brown’s wife, Patricia Brown. Authorities said Brown was gunned down in front of a home in the 1300 block of Elliot Street in Humboldt. Police said witnesses have not been forthcoming and may fear retaliation. Brown said her husband was a wonderful husband and father. She said their 2-month-old son was born a month after Brown’s death. “Mike went to every doctor’s appointment. He was there when both of our daughters were born,” said Brown. Brown’s mother, Tonya Lamar, said her heart is broken, as the memory of her son consumes her daily activities. “I feel like they killed me too,” said Lamar.
