UT Appoints New Pharmacy Dean

The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy has a new dean who is the first African-American to be appointed to the position in the college’s 113-year history.

Marie Chisholm-Burns was introduced as the new dean on Friday. She currently is a professor and head of the department of pharmacy practice at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy.

UT College of Pharmacy has locations in Memphis and Knoxville and clinical training sites throughout the state. Chisholm-Burns is also the second African-American to be named a dean in UT Health Science Center history.
