Jackson Police Investigate Murder in East Jackson

Jackson police were called to the intersection of Hays and Lexington Streets in east Jackson, just before 7:30 p.m., Tuesday. Investigators say the victims, a young black man, was shot in the parking lot of a local business then collapsed in the street. Investigators say he was pronounced dead at 8:05 p.m. As of late Tuesday night, police had not released the victim’s name or age. The suspect description is very vague. Witnesses told police he was a black man with a slim build and was wearing a dark hooded sweat shirt.
