Neighbors React to Hank Williams, Jr. off MNF
West Tennessee resident Hank Williams, Jr. and ESPN have parted ways because of Hank’s statement on Fox News earlier this week comparing a golf game between President Obama and John Boehner to an outing featuring Adolf Hitler and Bengamin Netanyahu. “First amendment right. Here again, you have to be careful these days you don’t want to offend some folks and I hate that might have happened, so I wish the best for him, ” said Henry County resident Richard Sinclair. Kathy Roper is a fan of Williams. “Oh, he’s gonna be sorely missed. I hope he comes back. Opinions are like, you know, opinions we all got ours, but we will miss him on Monday night for sure.” Williams said in a statement to the Associated Press, “By pulling my opening October 3, you stepped on the toes of the First Amendment freedom of speech, so therefore me, my song and all my rowdy friends are out of here. It’s been a great run.” Tara Greene will miss Williams. “Monday Night Football won’t be the same without him. He’s a legend on Monday Night Football. it just won’t be the same.”
