Church Donates Smoke Alarms to Fire Departments
Jackson’s Love and Truth Church marked its 10th anniversary as a congregation this past weekend, but Jackson police and firefighters are getting the gifts. As part of the celebration, the church decided to donate 1,000 smoke detectors to the Jackson and Madison County Fire Departments. The departments will install the smoke alarms inside homes in the region that currently do not have them. The police received specially designed goggles for use in school programs. The goggles simulate what it is like to be intoxicated , so officers can demonstrate first hand the effects of substance abuse.
