Premature Twins Delivered by Henderson County Paramedics

Twin baby boys were delivered in the passenger seat of a car in Henderson County on Saturday. The mother of the twins was only 27 weeks along in her pregnancy when she went into early labor. Her husband was driving her to the hospital as quickly as he could, when she delivered the first baby on the way. When they got to Henderson County Community Hospital, a team of nurses, paramedics, and doctors delivered the second baby right in the parking lot. “I prayed pretty much the whole time until the doctor came in and told me that she was okay and both babies were pink and breathing and that was a huge relief,” said the father of the twins Robbie Burke. Tucker Burke was born 1 lb. 12 oz. and Trace Burke was 2 lbs. 2 oz. Both of the boys are in stable condition in the neonatal ICU division of the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
