Semi Collides with Train

Haywood County authorities are working to find out what caused a violent collision between a train and an 18-wheeler late Tuesday afternoon. The train caused damage to the 18 wheeler following the incident, which happened a little before 5, Tuesday afternoon at Norris Crossing, along Highway 70-79 in east Haywood County. Parts of the trailer were left on both sides of the track after the train sliced it in half. Deputies told ABC 7 Eyewitness News no one was injured. It was believed the trailer was empty at the time of the crash.
