Cunningham Charged with Check Forgery

A Bradford man is behind bars in Madison County, accused of stealing thousands of dollars in checks from an unsuspecting victim. Jeffrey Cunningham, 27, is charged with forgery and identity theft. Officers arrested him after he allegedly tried to cash a $900 check belonging to an 80 year old woman at a Regions Bank branch in Three Way. Deputies later discovered he cashed more than $15,000 from the victim. An additional 26 counts will be presented to the grand jury. His arraignment has not been scheduled.
