Mays Convicted of Reckless Endangerment

A former Lane College student charged with shooting a classmate on campus last year, was found guilty Friday by a Madison County jury. Jason Mays, Junior, 20, of Nashville, was convicted of reckless endangerment, a lesser count than his original charge of aggravated assault. He could face up to six years in prison. Investigators said Mays shot his former classmate after a fight the previous weekend at a Jackson club. The victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the leg. Mays will be sentenced December 5.
