Wreck Backs Up Traffic on North Parkway
A wreck Thursday evening along North Parkway is being blamed for knocking out power in east Jackson. The crash happened just before 5:30 at the intersection of North Parkway and Royal Street. Investigators said a pickup truck hit a utility pole, knocking down lines and leaving several hundred JEA customers without power. The driver was taken to a Jackson hospital by ambulance .It is unclear the extent of his injuries or how the wreck happened. Power to 1300 JEA customers was restored around 9 p.m.
