Inspector Approves Certification for Haywood Co. Jail

After a recent re-inspection of the Haywood County Justice Center, the state correction’s institute has approved its certification. The inspection showed the facility has met the minimum required recommendations, such as updated officer training files, regular sanitation and maintenance inspection and an approved policy and procedural manual. However, the board still recommends the jail add additional staff to ensure the faculty is run in a safe and secure way. After receiving approval from the state Board of Control, jail leaders will receive their certification.
