As 7 Eyewitness News first reported, the mayor’s race in Milan is far from over after just one vote separates the two top contenders. Incumbent Mayor Chris Crider received just one more vote, 801, than Paul Spain, Junior, who received 800 in Tuesday’s election. To win the sport, a candidate must receive at least 51 percent of the vote. Both men said they are ready to win. “I think it (the close vote) was an indication that people was indicating a change for Milan, and that’s what were here to accomplish,” said Paul Spain, Jr., Milan mayoral candidate. “I knew it would be a run-off election, but I just didn’t know it would be this close, so we’ll just get after it, man. It’s the 4th quarter and let’s turn it up and let’s get after it,” said incumbent Milan Mayor Chris Crider. The run-off between Crider and Spain is set for Tuesday, December 13.
