The Search For Karen Swift Continues
Horseback riders from all over gathered Saturday morning in search of missing mother of four, Karen Swift. Dyer County officials put together a horseback search to allow people willing to help lend a hand, or a horse. Volunteers say they are hoping to find some piece of evidence. Officials said they are hopeful for anything that could lead them to Karen and stated the horses may be able to guide them. “A horse sometimes alerts you to something you might not see on a 4-wheeler, sometimes a strange odor,” said volunteer Ernie Roberts. Karen’s friends from her hometown in Arkansas said they were ready to search when Dyer County officials gave them the go-ahead. Not knowing what to expect or how the day will end, Karen’s friends said they hope to find anything that might give officials some sort of lead to where she might be. “Anything, anything to help her family. To give them some sort of peace, just to help them with some closure,” said Karen’s friend Bridget Palmer. Breaking off into groups, they carefully searched on horseback for anything that investigators could have possibly missed. Riding the areas officials believe, Karen could have been, or could still be. Authorities, family, and friends all believe someone knows something or has some information, but hasn’t come forward yet. “They have to, last night I was laying in the trailer, this is a very busy road, someone had to see something,” says Palmer.
