Man Charged with Assault of Electric Worker

A 65-year-old Union City man is facing charges involving an incident where a utility worker said he was threatened and chased from the yard of a home where dogs were intentionally set loose on him. Investigators said Halbert Dodd, II is charge with simple assault of the utility man who came to cut off his service. According to the complaint, the assault happened on Etheridge Lane after the utility employee turned off power to the residence. The worker told police he was in the backyard at the meter when two dogs were released from the back door and chased him from the yard where Dodd allegedly threatened to shoot him.
