Local Woman Wins Caregiver of the Year

A local woman wins the “Caregiver of the Year” award at a local senior care facility. Workers at Jackson’s Forest Cove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center showed their pride Friday, as one of their own, LaKeysha Graves won the statewide award. At Forest Cove, Graves works is described as exceptional. She is recognized as someone who goes above and beyond what is required of her. In the community, some know Graves as a hero. Many watched as she helped a man in a drugstore parking lot who was having a stroke. “So much, it means so much, because like I said, I not only do my job because it’s my job and for the money, I do it because I care, and I have always cared,” says Graves. This is the 13th year that the “Caregiver of the Year” has been awarded. 74 individuals are nominated across the state. In Tennessee there are more than 37,000 nursing home employees.
