Salvation Army Kicks Off Kettle Campaign
A hometown Super Bowl Champion helped the Salvation Army kick off their Red Kettle Campaign on Friday night at the Old Hickory Mall. Jackson’s own, Jabari Greer, a former South Side sensation, who now plays for the New Orleans Saints, said he came in town to support his hometowns Salvation Army. Lane College’s drum line marched from Sears down to J.C. Penney where a red kettle was located to kick off the holiday season. Salvation Army Captain, Sara Saunders said they have 34 kettles in West Tennessee. Their goal for this season is $200,000. “Anytime you can actually come make a true difference in your hometown city and let the people know that you appreciate everything that they have supported you in and done for you; with the Salvation Army and with the citizens of Jackson,” said Jabari Greer.
