Vigil Held for Karen Swift
Almost a month since Dyersburg mother Karen Swift was last seen alive, her friends and family gathered in a show of support. Wednesday night’s candlelight vigil was held at the Dyersburg YMCA, where Swift frequently worked out. Dozens of community members gathered to pray for Swift and her four children. She was last seen in the early morning hours of October 30 after leaving a Halloween party. Her SUV was found abandoned with a flat tire not far from her Dyer County home. “It gives us an opportunity to stay connected to the family and stay connected to our faith and again just knowing that we draw strength from each other when we come together and pray,” said Pastor Jerry Mitchell, of First Christian Church in Dyersburg, The Dyer County Sheriff’s Department, which is leading the investigation, has released very little information about what they have uncovered. They told 7 Eyewitness News their search continues.
