UT Chattanooga Students In Hotel

About 50 students at the University of Tennessee’s Chattanooga campus should plan to keep living at a city hotel until the spring semester.

Dee Dee Anderson, associate vice chancellor for student development at the university, tells the Chattanooga Times Free Press that about 170 students were placed in a hotel at the start of the year because there wasn’t enough space in on-campus dorms

Anderson says 120 of the students have since been moved into dorms, but 51 remain at the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel.

The university has been housing students at the hotel for the last four years, but hopes to lessen the dorm shortage when Stagmeier Hall reopens next fall with a capacity of 150 students.

The school is also seeking to acquire more land for housing.
