Chapman Makes First Court Appearance
The Jackson man accused in a shooting outside Jimmy D’s Sports Bar last Wednesday is being held on at $150,000 bond today following his first appearance in court. Travis Chapman, 26, is facing attempted first degree murder charges after his arraignment in Jackson City Court, Tuesday morning. Police said around Noon Monday, Jackson gang officers along with US Marshals arrested Chapman inside a home on Melissa Cove in Jackson. Investigators said Chapman was picked out of a six man photo line up by two witnesses who identified him as the man involved in the shooting. Early Wednesday morning, Chapman is accused of shooting a 33-year-old man in the stomach after one of his friends argued with the man. The victim was released from the hospital on Sunday. Chapman is expected to return to court next week.
