Salvation Army Needs Volunteers

Here in West Tennessee, Salvation Army bell ringers are out in full force, but they need more. Salvation Army leaders said they need ringers out, six days a week at 34 locations in seven West Tennessee counties. But right now they have fewer names on their volunteer list than they would like, especially during the week. That means they must pay bell ringers, which cuts into the money available to help those in need. “When volunteers are on the kettle, they always raise more money because they are excited,” said Capt. Sara Saunders of the Salvation Army. They are there cause they want to be there. They believe in the mission of the salvation army and so they are our supporters.” If you would like to help the Salvation Army by volunteering as a bell ringer, just contact the Salvation Army at (731) 422-1271. They need bell ringers through Christmas Eve.
