38 members of the the Saw Meal restaurant were left looking for jobs after the fire Monday night. “I was devastated, it’s my home away from home. If I am not home or at church this is where I am, ” said Waitress Rose Hamm. Waitress Maylene Barber has worked at the Saw Meal since it opened in 2008. A local legend, she has worked at the Adamsville location for 52 years. “I was real sad. I was gonna miss all my employees and my boss and all the customers that I have, ” said Maylene Barber. Saw Meal owners are working with the mayor on finding a location for a new restaurant. The owners plan on re-opening. “We still gotta try and be there for each other and we can re-build or start fresh, still with the same people. I love my girls, ” said waitress Jennifer Jones. Many of the workers will collect unemployment. “We are a family. We worked together for so long we just became family and the customers here are our family, ” said waitress Sarah Matthews.
