Metro Narcotics Seizes Eight Pounds of Marijuana

The Jackson-Madison County Metro Narcotics seized eight pounds of marijuana after searching a north Jackson residence. According to a news release, Wednesday, Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies went to a home in the 300 block of Wallace Road to try and locate a person with outstanding arrest warrants. After speaking with the new residents, it was determined that the wanted person had recently moved out. However, deputies reported the smell of marijuana at the residence. Investigators with Metro Narcotics were called to the scene and searched the home. Authorities said the search revealed approximately eight pounts of marijuana in several plastic bags. One of the residents, Derrick Lamont Ratliff, 32, was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Distribute. He is currently free on a $30,000 bond. The female resident at the home has not been charged at this time, but officials stated she may face future charges. Since a minor child was present, investigators said the matter will be referred to the Tennessee Department of Children Services for a follow-up investigation.
