Bell Ringers Dance for Donations
You have probably already seen several bell ringers for the Salvation Army out in West Tennessee. But you’ve probably never seen bell ringers like the ones who volunteered Friday afternoon outside the Walgreens on Oil Well Rd. Instead of just ringing the bells and saying Merry Christmas, Bekah Allen, 13, and Rebecca Mitchell, 14, played music and danced as they rang the bells. “We brought our iPods out and we were playing Justin Beiber’s “Christmas Mistletoe” CD,” said Mitchell. “We just wanted to have a little fun with it so we just made up a dance.” The two girls, who are home school students, say this is a way for them to give back to the community. “Community service is fun,” said Allen. “It doesn’t have to be boring.” If you would like to volunteer as a bell ringer, contact the Salvation Army. They need volunteers now through Christmas Eve.
