McKenzie Medical Center to Create Jobs

An expansion to a West Tennessee medical center could potentially mean more jobs, and some say, better health care. McKenzie’s Medical Center opened their doors to the community Sunday for a behind the scene look at their new state-of-the-art facility. “We’re one of the larger primary care centers in West Tennessee and really our goal is to provide services, under one roof, sort of like a one-stop medical care for most of your primary care,” said Dr. Volker Winkler. More than 450 West Tennesseans took a look at the new medical addition. Dr. Winkler says many of the 100 jobs that have been created in the past year have resulted from the continued growth in patients. City officials are hopeful this new facility, bringing in patients from all over the area, will produce job openings in these hard economic times. “We are excited about the jobs that they provide. Health care is a vital part of any body’s economy today and Carroll County. We are very fortunate to have many outstanding health care providers,” said Brad Hurley.
